TOMATOES ARE STILL GREEN

Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year.

Year 2008 has gone leaving shades of good & bad memories. For the corporate world across globe it was one of the worst years, with all businesses grappling with economic slowdown. There were many factors, which were not in our direct control, but it goes on to show that how interconnected, interdependent we are with the world. With this preamble I don’t want to go any further as I am least competent to talk about it.

Japanese survived major crises and every time came out as winner. They believed in a statement, which was said to be true, more for TOYOTA, it reads, “ Tomatoes are still green” the statement reflects their belief & state of mind in the crisis. They continued working / thinking on their time-honored customer, product, business, process contradictions marching towards the state of Ideality and reaped benefits organically when the situation improved.

I think, today we need to make best use of GOD gifted precious, yet free (and therefore unfortunately not valued) resources like our brain, eyes, and ears to ideate and experiment wherever physical resources allow us to do so and be ready with innovative plan for tomorrow. Afterall it is all conceived in mind first. We need to improve connections; network & partner alike with outside, inside world, exchange knowledge, ideas, prepare a fertile ground and expect a flourishing harvest. In short, we need to do all those things that we would not have done had this situation was not forced on us.

Let us start the year with a thought “ TOMATOES ARE STILL GREEN”

Wishing you INNOVATIVE year ahead.

Prashant,
It was nice article.Keep it up.
I know you are very good in Innovation.
While you work on Innovation in Industry,I suggest you must work parallely on theme "How to prevent Terrorism in India"
by using Ideating & Innovation principle.
Then you put forward your ideas to Institutions such as A.T.S.
Even if you are little successful,it will be make huge difference to Indian Society, which is need of the hour.
Best of luck & Wish you Safe,Happy & Prosperous New Year.

Deepak,

Thanks for taking your time out and reading my blog and also for your comments. Yes, we need to innovate and find out robust solutions for terrorist attacks.

If you talk the ways of doing then we need to go down the problem hierarchy & start asking " What'stopping me solving the problem" similarly, we can go up and start asking ' Why I do want to solve this problem". I think the solution to the problem of terrorism, as in most cases is not of correction and prevention, but it is more than that. Certainly will work on this & write something. Let me think..
Stay in touch.
Regards,
Prashant
